total weight gain:  25+ pounds! looks like i swallowed a basketball

baby is the size of: a honeydew

miss anything: sleep! sleep is getting rough.  i've missed sleep this entire time pretty much, but even more so lately.

cravings:  salad. salad big time!!!!

belly button in or out: out!!!!!

looking forward to:  my baby shower which is this saturday!!! also, looking forward to seeing my bestie! she is coming into town tomorrow from atlanta.  woot woot!

best moment this week:  i went to a good friends wedding this past sunday.  such a beautiful wedding.  she did an amazing job decorating for the reception. everything was diy! we had a blast seeing them get married, as well as hanging with some of our favorite people!

maternity clothes:  yup

labor symptoms: well.....

last week was a pretty stressful week.  i had a doctor appointment on wednesday, where they found some blood in my urine(tmi i know). at that point i had no symptoms of a uti or anything like that. around thursday evening, i started having what felt like lower back contractions, followed by having to pee every 30 seconds.  i felt miserable.  i ended up calling my ob, who then put me on some antibiotics which didn't work.  saturday came around and i was still super uncomfortable, so i was put on a different kind of antibiotics which did work.  and now i am feeling so much better thankfully.  it's one thing to have a baby resting on your bladder, but when you have uti on top of that it sucks.

anywhoo! my bestie comes into town tomorrow which should be fun! luckily this time it won't be extremely hot while she is here.i have some of the greatest friends in the world.  i feel so lucky! can't wait to see everyone on saturday.  anywhoo, i need to get off the computer so i can start getting ready for dinner.  we have some friends coming over for supper! they are bringing us pho (yay!!!!)

hospital bag packed!

so after having my scare at 29 weeks, and then a little scare yet again at 31, my husband brought up that it's probably time for me to pack my hospital bag.  so today i headed over to target to grab some things.

so this afternoons project was packing my bag!  i asked friends on face book what i should pack! i got some great advice.  so, here are some of the things i've packed!!!

1. outfit for bean from the gap
2. another outfit (going home outfit) for bean from petit bateau . we got bean the outfit when we were in paris.  i love it. it's the striped one on the top left
3. pajama pants and 2 tank tops from target.
4. slippers also from target .
5. hanes granny panties and socks also from target .
6. nursing bra
7. camera for taking lots of pictures
8. bag of snacks for adam and myself.

not photographed are some toiletries such as toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, chap stick, makeup, and i will also bring my blow dryer and flat iron.  i don't want to pack those things yet.

i can't believe i am at the point of packing my hospital bag.  so crazy that we will have a little one here soon. can't wait to meet my little man!!!

31 weeks!!!!!!!!!!

how far along:  31 weeks!!!! i can't believe there is only single digits weeks left.  9 more! I can't believe how soon our little man will be here.  i have such a strong love for him already.  i can't wait to meet him.

total weight gain:  25+ pounds, and i am measuring at 32 weeks.  so thats good!!!!

baby is the size of:  a coconut

miss anything:  bending down with ease.  i'm at the point now that when i drop something, i just leave it in hopes someone else picks it up.  too much work to do it myself.

cravings:  nothing really.

belly button in or out:  out!

looking forward to:  meeting out little man.  only 9 weeks to go give or take.

best moment this week:  my mom bought us a car seat which was awesome.  super excited.  also my family is coming up tomorrow.  my dad, grandmother, aunt, and one of my uncles.  they are bringing us some baby gifts, as well as taking us to lunch which will be nice.  since they won't be able to make it up the weekend of my shower, and i most likely won't be driving down to san diego to see them until after bean is born it will be good to see them now. i spent a lot of time cleaning my apartment yesterday and getting ready for them come.  this is the only apartment that my family has ever visited.  well besides my dad who helped us move here.  he's actually helped me move into every apartment that i've ever lived in.  such a great guy.

maternity clothes:  yup

labor symptoms:  well.none to my knowledge.  today i went to my normal ob appointment. it wasn't an appointment with the specialist so we still don't know the status of my previa.  but at the appointment today we did find some blood in my urine ( sorry if that's tmi).  i'm hoping it's nothing more than a uti or something like that, and not a sign of pre-term labor.  i haven't had any other symptoms whatsoever. not for a uti or for preterm labor.  so i really hope it's just nothing.  crossing my fingers everything is fine.  i should be getting a call i'm assuming within the next few days with some lab results.

so like i said before i am super excited to see my family tomorrow.  they are driving up from san diego.  being preggo and being stuck in the car for long amounts of time is awful.  so it's nice that they are making the drive up here with some baby gifts.  after this i probably won't see them until after january.  so it will be nice to catch up and have lunch.

also a dear friend of ours is getting married this coming weekend.  we've both known her for probably around 10ish years.  we will drive on sunday up to santa margarita which is exciting. i can't wait for their wedding.

back to some baby talk.... bean moves ALL the time.  it's crazy. i love being able to feel him move all the time.  especially when i'm talking or singing to him. i use to feel like a crazy person talking and singing to him, but now that he moves when i do it, i don't feel as crazy.

anywhoo i will stop gabbing.  i know i'm not that interesting.  i just have a lot to gab about.  im gonna grab some snacks, a big bottle of water, and relax.

9 weeks left!!! aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

30 weeks!!!!!!!!!

how far along: 30 weeks!!!!crazzzyy!!!!!! i can't believe there is only 10 weeks left.  man time has flown by so fast.  i think i am really going to miss being pregnant once it's all over.

total weight gain: i'm going to have to stick with 22+ pounds.  i think our scale is way off at home.  luckily i have a doctor appt next week and i will be able to find out officially how much weight i've gained.

baby is the size of:  a large cabbage!

miss anything:  a good nights sleep.  i guess i better get use to not sleeping much though.

cravings:  yesterday i had a major craving with ice cream.  so like any sane person would do, i went over to vons, and bought chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate sauce and whip cream.  totally satisfied my craving.  other than that, nothing really.  (talking about this food is making me so hungry)

belly button in or out:  out!!!!!!

looking forward to:  shaving my legs with ease! holy moly that was a hard task to do yesterday.  i might just have to give up on it completely unless i can convince my husband to help me out.  watch out world...here comes hairy bear legs!

best moment this week:  my hubs and i went over to a friends house over the weekend and we got to hang out with tons of our other awesome friends.  that's probably it.  this week has been pretty low key so far.

maternity clothes:  yup

labor symptoms: nothing yet thank goodness!!!!!

currently

reading: i am currently reading mostly pregnancy books.  i.e what to expect when you're expecting, as well as your pregnancy week by week, and i am planning to start ina may's guide to childbirth.  between setting up our new place, having family in town, and going on our honeymoon i haven't had a whole lot of time to dedicate to reading.  but i plan to get back to lots of it shortly.

doing: right now i am trying to get ready for baby, as well as trying to get our new place more in order.  we moved here at the end of august, and we still need to organize our office as well as hang all our family pictures up on our walls.  being pregnant it seems like so much work to do it all.  i still have zero energy.

feeling thankful: for my family.  i have a wonderful family.  i love them all.

watching:  there is a few shows i really like right now.  modern family, parenthood, east bound and down, and boardwalk empire.  those are the ones i mostly watch.

working on:  currently i am working on a quilt for my cousin julie.  she is expecting a baby girl, due in february. this little baby needs lots of good thoughts and prayers sent her way.  i really love making quilts, and it makes me happy that i am able to make one for a family member.  especially a baby as special as hers.

loving:  i really am loving being pregnant.  i was reading an instagram friends photo caption and she couldn't have explained being pregnant in a better way.  she mentioned the bond between her baby and her, and how no one else knows the baby like she does.  i couldn't agree more.  i feel like i know my baby really well.  i know when he's awake, when he's asleep. i know if he is kicking and you go to touch, he doesn't like it and will stop.  i can't wait to meet this little guy.  i love him so much.

thanks to sometimes sweet for the inspiration for this post! it was a fun one!

29 week scare.

one of my biggest fears with pregnancy happened yesterday.  no fetal movement all day.  being 29 weeks pregnant and use to him kicking all the time, then all of a sudden feeling nothing was scary and heart breaking.  pretty much all day i chugged glasses of ice cold water, orange juice (which i also put ice cubes in ), i tried eating sweets, a big meal, shaking my belly around, and laying real still for an hour at a time multiple times and nothing.  he just wasn't budging.

so around 4pm, i gave up and called my OB's office.  i told her everything i had done to try and wake him up and she suggested that i go in to my hospitals L&D department to have a NST done.  so i headed in and arrived around 4:45pm and was hooked up to monitors right away.  of course that's when he started finally moving.  but to be safe they kept me there for a few hours to make sure he was really okay.  they monitored his heart, checked the fluids, as well as made sure he was practicing breathing on his own.  and it turned out everything was great, and all the nurses said he was perfect.

as for today everything is great.  my little man is moving around like crazy! i guess yesterday was just a day where he had a very late start with moving.  guess he's trying to keep me on my toes!

how far along:  29 weeks!!!! this time is fllllyyyyyiiinnnggg by!

total weight gain:  20+ pounds.  my scale isn't working so it's hard to tell the exact weight.

baby is the size of:  a butternut squash!

miss anything: i miss the days when i didn't have sciatica pain. this pain sure is terrible.

cravings:  purple potato stew. i got a recipe from a very sweet lady, and i prepped it for the crock pot.  i really want to eat it.

belly button in or out:  out! all the way!

looking forward to : january! i really want to meet this little guy!

best moment this week:  coming home from paris! we had an amazing time there.  i mean amazing!  but it was nice to come home to our bed, and our cats, and our things.

maternity clothes:  yup!  but i actually found a shirt that fits that isn't a maternity shirt.  i also got this amazing suede skirt from a thrift store.  super comfy, and it's not a maternity skirt!

labor symptoms:  none!

yesterday late afternoon we got home from paris!!! my wonderful dad came up from san diego to pick us up from the airport.  he did tons of repairs on my car when we were gone.  he's such a great guy.  so after getting back to our apartment,  we ordered some pizza.  adam, my dad, his dad, and i all vegged out while watching the news.  then adam and i passed out around 6:30pm.  we could barely stay awake.  i will write all about paris in a separate blog.
